Seo Hyun Jin and Gong Yoo’s long-awaited drama is gearing up for its premiere!
On October 30, the first teaser and poster were revealed for the upcoming Netflix series “The Trunk.”
Based on a novel, “The Trunk” is about a secretive marriage service accompanied by a mysterious trunk. The story revolves around Noh In Ji (Seo Hyun Jin), an employee at NM (New Marriage) who finds herself deeply alone despite her job of living with a “contract husband” every year, and Han Jeong Won (Gong Yoo), who enters into this contract marriage in an ironic attempt to preserve his previous marriage.
In the poster, Noh In Ji is seen entering Han Jeong Won’s home with a large trunk, set against a backdrop of a spiral staircase and a cold, glamorous atmosphere. The characters wear similarly empty facial expressions as they are turned toward each other. The poster contains the text, “Truth and lies, wrath and longing. A marriage entangled in secrets.”
The teaser gives a glimpse of the “contract couple” meeting for the first time. Noh In Ji, who is familiar with the process, enters the home of her fifth husband Han Jeong Won, who does not seem very excited about the situation as he asks, “Do I refer to you as my wife? Is that how this works?” The two then embark on their one-year contract marriage, guided by a manual.
It also hints at the mysterious relationship between Han Jeong Won and his ex-wife Lee Seo Yeon (Jung Yun Ha), who says to him, “Congratulations on your marriage, honey.” To Noh In Ji, Lee Seo Yeon mysteriously says, “Please be happy. I may be punishing Jeong Won, but I’m also giving him time off.”
“The Trunk” is set to premiere on November 29 via Netflix.
